WOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Finally! Took me long enough, but now I am actually finished at Briercrest. Weird.
It just did.
Today our debit/credit machine went haywire. Our manager was on the cash register and he was just dumping the change/tips in a pile, and at the end of the day, half our our bills were missing and most of our tips were unaccounted for. Also, 5 people told me today that they are thinking of quitting.
Thankfully I’ve already put in my 2 weeks :) I just need to make it till August 2nd and then I’m FREE!!!
INSANE!!!
Here is a synopsis of the last 36 hours or so:
So, I live in Calgary and I bought my wedding dress in Moose Jaw, 7 hours away (dumbest idea ever). On Monday I called to tell the bridal shop I’d be in Tuesday afternoon to pick it up because I needed to have it at the seamstress’s place by Tuesday night (also in Moose Jaw). They said that would be fine, and I knew they were open till 5:00 so I planned to be there by 3:30 or 4:00. Tuesday morning my Grandpa called to say it was super hot and he hoped my car had enough coolant and wouldn’t explode. I thanked him for his concern, deciding that I too hoped it woudn’t explode. I got in the car in Calgary and drove to Moose Jaw, getting to the store at 4:00 in one piece. The store was closed. I was nooooot impressed.
So I called my mom, she called the seamstress, the seamstress found the home number for the store owner. She was on holidays and grumpy, but still in Moose Jaw so she came and opened the store for me. I paid for it and went to the seamstress’s place, thankfully she was suuper nice and my new best friend, and the dress fit almost perfectly, just needs to be hemmed (because I am mega-short).
THEN since it was such a ridiculously hot day, I decided I was dying of heat and needed to go to my Grandpa’s air-conditioned condo. Thankfully I did not die in the heat, but I was up most of the night watching the lightening hit the ground 2 miles away.
I went to bed and got up Wednesday morning (today) and drove back to Calgary. Now I am tired and going to bed. Off to work tomorrow.
It consisted of a cheese fondue (dipping bread into cheese), an oil fondue (dipping meat into oil, or dipping cheese into tempura and then into oil… therefore deep fried breaded cheese) and THEN a chocolate fondue complete with ooodles of strawberries. On top of that, I got to spend a lovely evening with my elementary school/junior high/high school bffs. We are a gong show, I love us, and I’m realizing now how much I will miss them when I leave Calgary this time.
